About The Position

The Intake Support Specialist provides compassionate, client-centered support throughout the admissions process. This role assists with client intakes, orientations, admissions procedures, and initial client needs while helping ensure a welcoming and supportive environment for individuals entering treatment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with clients.
  • Regularly operate a computer and standard office equipment, including printers, copiers, and calculators.
  • Frequently move throughout the facility to access supplies, equipment, and client areas.
  • Assist clients with transporting personal belongings from vehicles to living areas.
  • Utilize basic medical equipment such as blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, and thermometers.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility for extended periods as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a treatment center, behavioral health setting, or healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of Minnesota Chapters 245G and 245A, and Sections 626.556, 626.557, and 626.5572.
  • Experience working with individuals in recovery, mental health, or social service settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Intake Coordinator with preparing admission materials and client packets.
  • Welcome incoming clients and provide support during the check-in process.
  • Conduct facility tours and orient clients to the program and treatment environment.
  • Assist with client belongings searches in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
  • Review the client handbook, program expectations, and facility rules with new clients.
  • Conduct scheduled client intakes while following established protocols and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Medical, and Residential Advocate teams to provide support and coverage as needed.
  • Assist with client transportation to support treatment-related needs.
  • Maintain a visible and supportive presence throughout the facility.
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and redirection during client interactions.
  • Utilize de-escalation techniques to address challenging behaviors and promote a safe environment.
  • Contribute as a member of the Recovering Hope team to ensure exceptional client care and service.
  • Assist with general housekeeping, kitchen duties, and light maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Complete administrative duties and other assigned responsibilities.
  • Support a positive, professional, and recovery-focused environment.
