Requirements

Post-secondary education in business administration or a related field.
At least one year of recent experience working with refugee claimants, asylum seekers, newcomers, or vulnerable populations.
Highly organized, dependable, and skilled at prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines efficiently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask, take direction, and work independently.
Clear understanding of the unique challenges faced by immigrants and refugees.
Knowledge of government and community resources.
Excels in interpersonal communication, intercultural competency, crisis intervention, and problem-solving.
Thrives in fast-paced environments.
Demonstrates professionalism.
Sensitive and respectful of cultural and lifestyle diversity.
Undergo a Police Information Check (PIC).
Undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.

Responsibilities

Assess client eligibility using the BC NSP Eligibility Matrix.
Conduct initial needs assessments, providing accurate information about services.
Coordinate urgent responses for refugee claimants.
Collaborate with community providers.
Manage client data and reports through program forms and the OCMS database.
Greet clients.
Handle online inquiries.
Perform administrative duties.
Maintain confidential records.
Support the program manager with statistical reporting and inventory management.
Contribute to program quality improvement, strategic planning, and communication efforts to enhance service delivery and community outreach.
