About The Position

This role serves as the initial point of contact for anyone interested in applying for Light of Life's Men's Residential programming. It provides a clear intake and orientation process for applicants to Light of Life's Men's Residential Programs. It works in collaboration with the MRP Care Team, assesses applicant appropriateness for services within Light of Life's continuum of care. It assists Engagement Phase clients to become oriented to their new environment and the expectations of their assigned program. This role walks along side clients in a Christ-like manner, while creating a loving grace-filled environment that facilities a healthy, addiction free lifestyle.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Valid PA State Driver's License.
  • Four (4) years prior mission or ministry related experience OR any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Light of Life is committed to maintaining a drug-free community. Due to the nature of our ministry serving some who struggle with issues of addiction or drug abuse, our staff may not use or consume controlled substances like marijuana, even when prescribed by a physician.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor degree with experience in social services, a Master's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for oversight and execution of the assessment and intake process for MRP.
  • In collaboration with the MRP care team, assesses applicants' appropriateness for LoL program services and makes appropriate program recommendations or external referrals.
  • Schedules intake date and time in collaboration with MRP care team and external agencies.
  • Creates accurate records in MissionTracker for clients enrolled in LoL's MRP following data entry protocols from immediate supervisor.
  • Develops relationships with external referral agencies so that prospective clients hear about LoL's residential programming.
  • Compiles and organizes applicant and intake related data following data collection protocols from immediate supervisor.
  • Is the Decision Lead over the orientation of clients who are in the Engagement Phase of their assigned program.
  • Develops and facilitates new client orientation groups and/or classes.
  • Tracks Engagement client's progress with completion of established "Welcome Curriculum" and reports to MRP Care Team.
  • Oversees "Welcome Committee" and coordinates with MRP Care Team to ensure new clients have a clean, welcoming bed and storage space.
  • Organizes and executes multiple projects/tasks; reprioritizes when new issues arise, to ensure a timely response; organizes workflow processes to achieve efficiency; coordinates with others on shared projects; may fulfil different roles; within a team may participate in multiple teams.
  • Builds close relationships; shows genuine interest in others; conveys energy and enthusiasm; assertive; listens well; behaves knowing their identity is in Christ; reasons logically, while paying close attention to emotions.
  • Makes decisions within established guidelines; decisions affect a limited area; exercises personal ownership in using resources in the most efficient manner; makes decisions regarding what needs to be done by recognizing the existence of, and difference among a few easily recognizable situations.
  • Involves making decisions that affect not only the wellbeing of LOL but also directly the overall reputation outside of LOL. Decisions not only impact other's staff's eternal best interests, but it also impact clients, donors and neighbor's interests in such a way that they may in turn tell others outside of LOL about our work.
  • Is a Mission Alignment Voice over any proposed activity that does not follow Light of Life principles, is unhealthy or harmful to recovery/ (Veto Authority)
  • Is a Contributing Voice for decisions affecting intake and orientation process or procedures.
  • Is a Contributing Voice for client care issues.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
  • Walk alongside clients as a disciple of Christ and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with them through actions and words.
  • Establish mutual trust and create a safe, authentic environment so that the clients continue to mature in Christ.
  • Serve the clients in a Christ-like manner and practice a self-evaluative lifestyle.
  • Resolve all issues in ways that promote the principles of Light of Life while following the processes described in the LOL staff manual.
  • Exhibit love for Jesus Christ, the staff, and the clients.
  • Study the Christian Bible and apply the knowledge received/revealed to job duties and clients' specific issues.
  • Help the clients make choices that are justifiably in their eternal best interest.
