About The Position

This position is with Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health – Massachusetts and Rhode Island, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to helping children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders. The CARES School in Fitchburg, MA, is a therapeutic day school serving individuals aged 6-21 with Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Disability. As a Teacher, you will prepare and teach lessons aligned with MA Curriculum frameworks and students' IEPs, supervise Teacher's Aides, serve as a positive role model, and complete required documentation. Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Valid driver's license required
• Bachelor's degree required
• Massachusett's DESE licensure, or ability to be in process for licensure required
• Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach lessons in accordance with MA Curriculum framework and students' IEPs.
• Provide supervision of Teacher's Aides in the classroom.
• Work diligently to meet the needs of our students, both in the classroom, and by being a positive role model to others.
• Complete required documentation in a timely manner.
