About The Position

The Intake Specialist supports rehabilitation and recovery services for people living in the community with serious mental illness. This direct-care role uses independent judgment to assess clients and enroll them in appropriate programs when they enter rehabilitation and recovery services, helping ensure successful transitions. The position is in person and scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of positively referenced related work experience.
• Knowledge of best practices in psychiatric rehabilitation and crisis intervention.
• Knowledge and experience in assessment, treatment planning, and interventions for people with serious mental illness, including co-occurring disorders.
• Basic knowledge of Social Security benefits and medical assistance.
• Driver’s license with 3 points or fewer and access to an insured vehicle.

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate clients and their families or support systems about available services.
• Provide linkages to outside providers as needed.
• Perform administrative tasks related to internal and external enrollment requirements.
• Transport clients from state hospitals to Rehabilitation and Recovery programs.
