About The Position

West Oaks Hospital is seeking an Intake MOT/Registered Nurse to join its team. The role coordinates incoming-patient assessments with Intake Counselors, coordinates physicians’ assessments, and initiates the admission process. The nurse manages the MOT process and may provide technical assistance with discharge planning.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing through an ADN, diploma, or BSN program.
• Current Texas State Registered Nurse licensure.
• CPR certification and hospital de-escalation certification.
• Two years of inpatient psychiatric experience.
• Knowledge of appropriate nursing assessment, diagnosis, and intervention with psychiatric patients.
• Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side effects.
• Knowledge of milieu management.
• Ability to delegate responsibility as permitted by the Nurse Practice Act and monitor performance of delegated tasks.
• Ability to safely implement special treatment procedures.
• Skill in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate assessments of incoming patients with Intake Counselors.
• Coordinate physicians’ assessments and initiate the admission process.
• Manage the MOT process.
• Provide technical assistance to discharge planning, as needed.
• Perform call management and initial assessment.
• Carry out evaluation and admission processes.
• Support operations and staff management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
