About The Position

Hendricks Behavioral Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Assessment Clinician to join their team. This role is crucial in responding to referrals, providing technical assistance to the discharge planning process, and offering general support to the case management program. The position involves documenting and processing inquiry calls, assessing and stabilizing patients, notifying and assisting the on-call doctor with patient interviews, obtaining administrative approval for admissions, completing admission paperwork, and maintaining an intake log. Additionally, the role includes making follow-up calls to no-show patients, demonstrating guest relations, and providing counseling to employees needing training.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
Licensed to practice in the State of Indiana as a Registered Nurse.
Experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting, preferred.
A working knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam.
Working knowledge of the Addiction and Recovery field.

Responsibilities

Document and process inquiry calls according to Intake policies.
Assess and stabilize patients before discharge or arrange hospital admission.
Notify and assist the on-call doctor with patient interviews.
Obtain administrative approval for all admissions.
Complete admission paperwork following hospital policy.
Maintain an intake log with all necessary information documented.
Make follow-up calls to patients who fail to show up for appointments.
Demonstrate guest relations by example and provide counseling to employees in need of training.
