Intake Counselor, FT, 3pm-11pm
About The Position
University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital serving North Texas and surrounding areas. It provides inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to adolescents and adults, with programs tailored to mental health and chemical dependency needs. The Intake Counselor provides telephonic and in-person risk assessments to assist physicians in identifying the appropriate level of care for potential patients. The role serves as an initial contact for referral sources and potential patients, coordinates referrals and intake, facilitates admissions, and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients, and unit staff. The Intake Counselor also verifies insurance benefits and obtains prior authorizations as needed. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Requirements
- Currently licensed to practice in Texas as an LPC-Associate, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, or RN.
Nice To Haves
- A master's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- One to three years of experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility is preferred.
Responsibilities
