About The Position

Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Intake Clinician to respond to referrals and requests for services and information. This is an on-site position in Marysville, Washington. The clinician supports discharge planning under the direction of the Director of A&R and provides general support to the case management program. Compensation is $36.00–$49.00 per hour, with shift differentials that vary by shift and weekend schedule. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered.

Requirements

A master's degree in a human relations field.
Licensure to practice in Washington State as a mental health professional: Social Worker, Counselor, or RN with MHP.
Working knowledge of the latest DSM and Mental Status Exam.
Working knowledge of the addiction and recovery field.

Nice To Haves

Experience in intake assessment activities within an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

Document and process inquiry calls according to Intake policies.
Assess and stabilize patients before discharge or arrange hospital admission.
Notify and assist the on-call doctor with patient interviews.
Obtain administrative approval for all admissions.
Complete admission paperwork according to hospital policy.
Maintain an intake log with all necessary information documented.
Make follow-up calls to patients who do not attend appointments.
Demonstrate guest relations by example and provide counseling to employees who need training.
Provide technical assistance to discharge planning under the direction of the Director of A&R.
Offer general support to the case management program.
