About The Position

Signet Health is hiring two part-time Weekend Intake Clinicians to provide Behavioral Health Services at Medstar Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. The clinician conducts clinical assessments of prospective patients in the Emergency Department and determines their appropriateness for the program. As needed, the clinician also provides direct clinical social work services to patients and families as part of a multidisciplinary team, with emphasis on psychosocial assessments, groups, marital and family therapy, program development, and developing, implementing, and reviewing treatment plans on the units. The schedule is Saturday and Sunday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The stated current PRN pay rate is $46.62 per hour, with an additional weekend differential of $7.00 per hour.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in behavioral health, facilitating patients’ access to community resources, and conducting therapeutic groups.
Current Washington, DC licensure as an LPC, LICSW, or LISW.
Flexibility to adjust to the needs of a fast-paced environment.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Proficient oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Adult inpatient psychiatric and/or substance use experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the psychiatric assessment process with attending psychiatrists.
Identify age-appropriate developmental tasks and needs through care development and treatment-planning sessions.
Complete psychosocial assessments, review treatment plans, and conduct groups on the units as needed.
Maintain contact with nursing homes, medical-surgical units, and other facilities and agencies to promote the program and educate them about available services.
Communicate with referral sources about the status of patients referred to the program.
When needed, provide direct clinical social work services to patients and families, including facilitating marital and family therapies and assisting with program development.
