About The Position

As a Child and Adolescent Intake Therapist at Blackbird Health, you'll play an essential role in delivering high-quality intake evaluations and ongoing therapy to children, adolescents, and young adults. You'll build meaningful connections with patients and families from the very start of their care journey, conducting thorough clinical assessments, developing individualized care plans, and providing consistent, high-quality ongoing treatment. You'll collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to ensure every patient receives seamless, whole-child care from their first session through their entire care journey. This remote role supports our patients' needs for afterschool, evening and weekend sessions. We are offering a sign on bonus for our founding providers.

Requirements

  • Independently licensed as a LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or PsyD/PhD in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, or New Jersey.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children and adolescent patients
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a telehealth or virtual setting
  • Own your own phone, computer, and high speed internet
  • Flexibility to work a minimum of 15 hours per week during our peak "after school hours" defined as after 3pm ET during the week or any time on weekends

Responsibilities

  • Deliver High-Quality Intake Evaluations: Lead individual telehealth intake sessions for youth ages 2–26, using evidence-based assessment practices tailored to each patient's developmental stage and unique needs.
  • Provide Ongoing Therapy: Build strong, consistent therapeutic relationships with patients over time — delivering individual evidence-based therapy and adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing assessment of patient progress.
  • Build Meaningful Connections: Spend the necessary time with patients and families to truly understand their experiences, educate them about therapeutic approaches available at Blackbird, and provide a warm, supportive entry point into care that carries through their entire journey.
  • Drive Strong Clinical Matches & Progress: Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans that ensure each patient is connected to the right treatment approach — then see it through by monitoring progress and adjusting as needed.
  • Collaborate for Integrated Care: Engage with clinicians, medical providers, and families to create coordinated treatment plans that address the whole child. Participate in optional weekly clinical consultations to enhance your clinical skills.
  • Maintain Clinical Excellence: Maintain thorough intake and ongoing documentation and patient records. Strive for the highest clinical and technical quality in all aspects of your work.
