About The Position

As an Intake Therapist at Blackbird Health, you'll play an essential role in delivering high-quality virtual and in-person intake evaluations for children, adolescents, and young adults. You'll build meaningful connections with patients and families from the very start of their care journey, spending the necessary time to understand their needs, educate them about therapeutic approaches, and ensure a seamless transition into ongoing treatment. You'll conduct thorough clinical assessments and collaborate with our interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans. This hybrid role supports our patients' needs for afterschool, evening and weekend intake sessions.

Requirements

  • Independently licensed as a LPC, LMFT, LCSW, or PsyD/PhD in Pennsylvania
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working with children and adolescent patients
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in a telehealth or virtual setting
  • Own your own phone, computer, and high speed internet
  • Commit to a minimum of 8 hours per week during core hours, after 4pm Monday through Friday and 8am–7pm on Weekends

Responsibilities

  • Deliver High-Quality Intake Evaluations: Lead individual in-person and telehealth intake sessions for youth ages 2–26, using evidence-based assessment practices tailored to each patient's developmental stage and unique needs.
  • Build Meaningful First Connections: Spend the necessary time with patients and families to truly understand their experiences, educate them about therapeutic approaches available at Blackbird, and provide a warm, supportive entry point into care.
  • Drive Strong Clinical Matches: Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans that ensure each patient is connected to the right ongoing treatment and provider.
  • Collaborate for Integrated Care: Engage with clinicians, medical providers, and families to create coordinated treatment plans that address the whole child. Participate in optional weekly clinical consultations to enhance your clinical skills.
  • Maintain Clinical Excellence: Maintain thorough intake documentation and patient records. Strive for the highest clinical and technical quality in all aspects of your work.
