About The Position

Gastro One 1310, a healthcare provider in Germantown, Tennessee, is seeking a detail-oriented, organized Insurance Verification Clerk. The role supports efficient insurance-claim processing by verifying patient insurance information and coordinating with insurance providers. This is a full-time, 100% onsite position. The Insurance Verifier communicates with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies; maintains accurate records; updates electronic health records and related databases; and works with billing and coding colleagues to resolve discrepancies and insurance-related issues. The role also requires staying current on insurance policies, regulations, and billing codes and participating in relevant training.

Responsibilities

Verify patient insurance coverage by contacting insurance companies by phone, online portals, or other established methods.
Obtain and document accurate insurance information, including policy numbers, coverage dates, and pre-authorization requirements.
Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies to gather and relay necessary information.
Collaborate with the billing and coding team to resolve discrepancies in insurance information.
Maintain detailed and accurate insurance-verification records for each patient.
Update electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant databases with verified insurance information.
Identify and promptly address issues related to insurance verification.
Work with the billing team to resolve insurance-related problems and support timely claim processing.
Stay updated on changes in insurance policies, regulations, and billing codes.
Participate in training sessions to develop insurance-verification skills and knowledge.
