About The Position

Clearview Cancer Institute is seeking an Insurance Benefits Representative to verify insurance eligibility and benefits, handle managed care matters, and maintain referrals monthly. The role supports community oncologists and patients in an outpatient cancer-treatment setting. It involves direct patient contact and work in a clinical business office using basic office equipment and multiple software systems in a team-oriented environment. This is not a supervisory position.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least two years of experience in medical billing.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality laws.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented approach.
• Knowledge of Excel, insurance benefits, coordination of benefits, and managed care referrals.
• Ability to verify eligibility and benefits and familiarity with insurance company policies, terms, and conditions.

Responsibilities

• Verify all insurance, including managed care policies, monthly.
• Notify other departments about uninsured or under-insured patients.
• Resolve managed care issues, including authorizations for services, billing, and claims payments.
• Understand and explain insurance benefits, related issues, and managed care coverage to patients.
• Maintain referrals on a monthly basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
