About The Position

This role involves gaining experience with and supporting the products and services offered by the company, including Multi-peril crop insurance, named peril crop programs, and Agribusiness programs. The specialist will assist in the marketing and sales of all lines of business, develop relationships with the agency plant in the assigned division, and train new and existing agents on marketing techniques, products, services, and rules/regulations. A key aspect of the role is becoming familiar with and developing expertise in Rain and Hail systems and technology to maximize efficiency for agents and adjusters. The position also supports the field structure in managing the assigned territory, communicating company policy and procedures, and relaying territory issues to division management. Administrative duties include investigating and resolving complaints, aiding in the collection and documentation of outstanding premium balances, monitoring Quality Control audits, and identifying and contracting qualified independent adjusters. The specialist will also gain experience in loss adjustment procedures for crops in the assigned division, attend industry seminars, assist in the supervision and management of timely claim completion, and perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Ability to recruit and train agents
• Knowledge of or the ability to gain experience of the agricultural industry, including an understanding of the kinds of crops produced in the territory, agricultural issues
• Knowledge of or the ability to gain experience of Rain and Hail’s products, services and systems
• Knowledge of and the ability to gain the experience of the underwriting and claim adjustment rules and regulations associated with the Multiple Peril Crop Insurance program, crop-hail program, and the other insurance products offered by the company
• Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Ability to effectively communicate and maintain business relationships with Company personnel, outside resources and customers
• Ability to use the Company’s terminology, procedures and systems
• Ability to use department equipment
• Ability to perform basic and complex mathematical calculations

• Baccalaureate degree in Agricultural Business or related field required
• 1-3 years of experience
• A GPA of 3.0 or higher

Responsibilities

• Gaining experience with and in support of the products and services offered by the company including Multi-peril crop insurance, named peril crop programs, and Agribusiness programs
• Assisting in the marketing and sales of all lines of business
• Developing a relationship with the agency plant in the assigned division
• Assisting in training new and existing agents about marketing techniques, products, services, rules/regulations
• Becoming familiar with and developing an expertise in Rain and Hail systems and technology available to maximize efficiency for agents and adjusters
• Assisting field structure in management of assigned territory
• Assisting field structure in communicating company policy and procedures to adjusters and support staff and by communicating territory issues to division management
• Performing administrative duties including investigating and resolving complaints from agents/insured in his/her assigned territory
• Aiding in collection and documentation of outstanding premium balances
• Monitoring Quality Control audits in the assigned territory as requested by division management to ensure that the field requirements of the RHILLC plan of implementation are fulfilled
• Identifying and contracting qualified independent adjusters to assure that policyholders receive prompt, competent loss adjustments
• Gaining experience in the loss adjustment procedures applicable to crops in assigned division
• Attending industry sponsored seminars, field days, etc. at the direction of division management
• Assisting in the general supervision and management of the timely completion of claims
• Assisting with other duties as necessary
