About The Position
The Insurance Specialist reviews patient account files to ensure accuracy and completeness, determines appropriate billing procedures, and processes claims for payment. Most work takes place in an air-conditioned area, with routine long periods of sitting at a computer terminal. The role may involve customer contact, work in storage areas, and occasional lifting, stooping, and pushing.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Type at least 30 words per minute.
- Experience with a computer terminal or personal computer.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Previous employment in a hospital, medical, or insurance industry.
- One to two years of experience.
