About The Position

This position involves initial collection activities related to insurance balances on hospital accounts. The representative will ensure correct payment is received based on expected reimbursement, review and analyze demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data to expedite payment, and perform pre-certification notifications via telephone or electronically. They will also gather and complete required documentation for submission to insurance carriers per payer requirements.

Requirements

High School Graduate, required
2yrs post high school or degree preferred
Initial collection on claims for all payers (government and Managed care payers)
Computer keyboarding
Epic
math skill
understanding of Cpts, UB preferred
effective communicator
analytical

Responsibilities

Initial collection activities related to the insurance balance on hospital accounts.
Ensure correct payment received based on expected reimbursement.
Reviews and analyzes all required demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data procured by patient intake and registration areas necessary to expedite payment on patient’s accounts.
Performs pre-certification notification via telephone or electronically and gathers and completes all required documentation for submission to insurance carriers per payer requirements.
