About The Position

Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice in its Westchester, New York office. The practice interprets insurance contracts and represents insurers in complex coverage claims, including monitoring, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. The firm represents primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjustment companies, across virtually every line of business. The ideal candidate has experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions involving first-party property and general liability matters, as well as litigation experience. The firm is also interested in talented developing attorneys with substantive litigation experience, excellent skills, and a demonstrated interest in insurance law. The role offers an opportunity to work in a growing, collaborative firm.

Requirements

One to seven years of experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first-party property and general liability matters.
Litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
Strong research and writing skills.
Admission to the New York Bar.
