About The Position

The Los Angeles, California office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice. The practice interprets insurance contracts and represents insurers in complex coverage claims, including monitoring, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. The firm represents primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjustment companies across virtually every line of business. The ideal candidate has experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first-party property and general liability matters, as well as litigation experience. The firm is also interested in talented attorneys with substantive litigation experience, excellent skills, and a demonstrated interest in insurance law. The position is based in the Los Angeles office; the posting is tagged as hybrid.

Requirements

Admission to the California Bar is required.
At least 1 to 7 years of experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first-party property and general liability matters is sought.
Litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
Strong research and writing skills.
Substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in insurance law are welcomed.
