Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney
About The Position
The San Diego, California office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice. The practice interprets insurance contracts and represents insurers in complex coverage claims, including monitoring, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. The firm represents primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjustment companies, across virtually every line of business. The ideal candidate has experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions involving first-party property and general liability matters, along with litigation experience. The firm is also interested in developing talented attorneys with substantive litigation experience, a demonstrated interest in insurance law, and strong skills in another litigation arena. Requirements
- Admission to the California Bar is required.
- At least one to seven years of experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first-party property and general liability matters is identified for the ideal candidate.
- Litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in insurance law are relevant qualifications for developing attorneys.
