Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Solid understanding of life insurance products, plans, and applications.
  • Strong knowledge of MIB codes and medications relevant to underwriting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in life insurance or related fields, or a strong consumer‑level understanding of life insurance concepts.
  • Intermediate level of English proficiency, as the role involves communicating with agents, underwriters, and internal partners on a daily basis.
  • Authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to support or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time, including H-1B visas and participation in STEM OPT work authorizations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a quality checkpoint by reviewing all new business applications to ensure accurate and complete data entry.
  • Review final expense and simplified issue applications and render decisions on insurability — approvals, declinations, and plan changes — within stated guidelines.
  • Exercise an authorized approval limit of $300,000.
  • Conduct research to determine applicant coverage, including MVR searches, criminal record checks, and vendor website reviews.
  • Monitor and identify concerns with agent business practices.
  • Determine necessary underwriting requirements and prepare correspondence for agents.
  • Enter accurate, complete, and detailed notes in the operating system so that any reviewer understands what actions were taken, why, and what is still required.
  • Conduct company business in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and compliance obligations.
