About The Position

Austin Industrial is seeking an Insulator/Metalman to apply, remove, and repair insulating material on exposed surfaces and structures, including air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings. The work helps control noise and maintain temperatures. The role may include other assigned duties. Applicants must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; Austin cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of journeyman-level experience.
• Valid driver's license.
• Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
• Ability to perform the role's stated physical demands, including lifting up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and select the required insulation material.
• Work at heights.
• Apply adhesive to insulation material or attach metal adhesive applications to it.
• Determine quantities and select insulation materials in sheet, tubular, or roll form based on their heat-retention properties, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
• Measure and cut insulation material to specified sizes and shapes using a tape measure or other measuring device and a handsaw, knife, or scissors.
• Fit, wrap, or attach insulation material to structures according to blueprint specifications.
• Cover or seal insulation using preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape, with tools such as a staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
