The Instrument Fitter is responsible for assembling, mounting, and installing control panels, instruments, and associated sensing devices. This role involves planning and executing installations according to manufacturer instructions, specifications, and drawings. The fitter will also assemble and install necessary supports, measure and install small bore piping for pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and perform pressure testing. A key aspect of this role is the ability to read and interpret various technical drawings, including P&IDs, details, location plans, schematics, and isometrics. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, accuracy, and a commitment to maintaining an orderly and clean work area. Regular maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and instrumentation are also part of the duties. The role involves preparing and recording QC installation documents, and participating in installation inspections with engineers and clients. Physical capability to work in a construction environment, including walking, climbing, working in confined spaces and elevated areas, and lifting up to 40lbs, is essential. This position typically requires 48 months of industrial construction experience.
