About The Position

PegasusTSI is hiring an Instrument & Controls System Designer to work closely with lead designers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems. The role produces complete Instrument & Control System drawings with associated bills of materials. The position is based in Tampa, Florida, and combines a hybrid work schedule with required time onsite in the office.

Requirements

At least 5 years of industry experience in I&C design; the posting specifies a range of 5 to 10 years.
Experience with refining, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and specialty chemical projects.
Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Proficiency with technical software applications, including MS Office and Google Workspace.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
Ability and willingness to learn new software.

Nice To Haves

Higher education is preferred.
Working knowledge of the INTERGRAPH Smart Plant Instrumentation INtools package is a plus.

Responsibilities

Develop, design, and check control panels; control room layouts and location plan drawings; junction box layouts and loading; wiring connections; loop and logic diagrams; material take-offs; cable schedules; installation details and supports; instrument indexes; and vendor document reviews.
Use CAD and practical design knowledge to prepare layout and design drawings.
Interpret applicable standards and codes and ensure conformance with them, as well as with company policies and procedures.
Meet layout requirements and develop alternate system design layouts as required.
Review and comment on supplier data as required.
Check instrument deliverables, as appropriate to the discipline, to ensure they clearly depict the design.
Review constructability, operability, and safety in design.
Check compliance with I&C design guides, standards, specifications, and procedures.
