About The Position

PegasusTSI is seeking an Instrument & Controls System Designer to work closely with lead designers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems. The position produces complete Instrument & Control System drawings and associated bills of materials. The role is based in Tampa, Florida, and uses a hybrid work schedule while requiring onsite work in the office.

Requirements

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of industry experience in I&C design, with experience in refining, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, and specialty chemical projects.
Proficiency in MicroStation and AutoCAD.
Proficiency with technical software applications, including MS Office and Google Workspace.
Excellent verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Higher education is preferred.
Working knowledge of the INTERGRAPH Smart Plant Instrumentation INtools package is a plus.
Ability and willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

Develop, design, and check control panels; control room layouts and location plan drawings; junction box layouts and loading; wiring connections; loop and logic diagrams; material take-offs; cable schedules; installation details and supports; and maintain the instrument index.
Review vendor documents and supplier data, providing comments as required.
Use CAD to prepare layout and design drawings using practical design knowledge.
Interpret and ensure conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
Meet layout requirements and develop alternate system design layouts as required.
Check instrument deliverables to ensure they clearly depict the design.
Review constructability, operability, and safety in design.
Check compliance with I&C design guides, standards, specifications, and procedures.
