Instructors are hired to teach courses in studio art, art education, and art history areas. This pool is for non-tenure track positions and is intended to collect applications throughout the year. The department draws from this pool if and when there is a need for a non-tenure track (and often temporary) instructor in a specific area of for a a specific class. There may be any number of reasons for this type of hire: temporary sabbatical replacement, instructor replacement, retirements, emergency medical leave replacements, etc. Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation's leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. The Art & Art History Department curriculum supports majors in Studio Art (BA, BFA, and MFA), Art History (BA), and Art Education (BFA).
