Requirements

  • BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field with three (3) years experience in construction engineering, or related field.
  • Ability through education and training to teach at least four of the following courses; Estimating, scheduling, project management, heavy construction, construction contracts, construction plans and specifications, Construction Administration, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, materials, safety, surveying, Engineering Statics, Engineering Mechanics Structural Analysis, Reinforced concrete design, Structural steel design, Hydraulics/fluid mechanics.

Nice To Haves

  • Currently active or employed in the construction or engineering profession with ten (10) years experience.
  • Holding or able to obtain within one year a Professional Engineer license in Arkansas.
  • Master or Ph.D. in Construction, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in shared faculty governance and departmental committees.
  • Foster relationships with industry.
  • Perform other duties as needed in the department, college, and university.
  • Develop and teach undergraduate engineering and/or construction courses and labs.
  • Coordinate with industry sponsors on senior design projects.
  • Participate in program assessment and accreditation activities as needed.
  • Be actively involved in student activities, such as student organization, and competition teams.
  • Service to the university will include working with students on competitions or other extracurricular projects.
