About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a Part-Time Instructor for Welding Technology for Fiscal Year 2027. This role involves providing lecture and lab instruction, demonstrating welding procedures, ensuring safety, developing course materials, and evaluating student mastery of skills. The instructor will also make provisions for diverse learning needs, provide student advisement, and attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested. CSN is Nevada's largest college and one of the largest in the nation, operating in over 50 locations with 3 main campuses. As a comprehensive, multi-campus community college and the largest and most ethnically diverse institution in Nevada, CSN educates over 50,000 students annually. Requirements

  • 5 years of work-related experience

  • CWE, CWI, SCWI, NDT Certifications
  • NCCER Instructor Credentials
  • OSHA 10, 30
  • Welding Technology degree
  • One year equivalent full time teaching experience
  • Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce
  • Knowledge of computer classroom technologies
  • Knowledge of Canvas or other Learning Management Systems

Responsibilities

  • Lecture and Lab instruction for Welding Technology courses
  • Demonstrate and assist students with lab procedures and ensure adherence to safety precautions
  • Develop syllabi and course materials
  • Instruct students in accordance with curriculum standards and objectives
  • Independently evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
  • Make necessary provisions to meet learning needs
  • Provide advisement to students
  • Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested
