About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a part-time Instructor for Automotive Technology for Fiscal Year 2027. This role involves providing instruction for various automotive courses, from introductory maintenance to advanced diagnostics. The instructor will be responsible for lab safety training, evaluating student mastery of skills, and providing student advisement. Some curriculum development may also be requested. The position requires attendance at staff meetings and recruitment activities. Automotive courses are taught in-person at the North Las Vegas Campus and are scheduled during the day, evening, and on weekends. Applications are reviewed on an as-needed basis depending on course availability.

Requirements

  • Current ASE certifications
  • 5 years of experience as a Technician in Automotive Industry

Nice To Haves

  • Associate of Applied Science Degree in Automotive Technologies
  • G1 Auto Maintenance and Light Repair
  • Knowledge of computer classroom technologies
  • Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce
  • Knowledge in Canvas or other Learning Management Systems

Responsibilities

  • Lecture and Lab instruction for Automotive courses
  • Courses range from Introduction to Automotive Maintenance to Advanced Diagnostics
  • Provide Lab Safety Training
  • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
  • Provide advisement to students
  • Some program and or curriculum development may be requested
  • Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested

Benefits

  • The salary is $925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
