About The Position

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado School of Medicine invites applications for an Integrated MLT position in the Young Mothers and Families Clinic (YMFC) at Children’s Hospital Colorado. YMFC is a pediatric primary care clinic serving adolescent mothers up to age 25 and their children. Its comprehensive multidisciplinary services include social work, case management, resource connection and support, integrated behavioral health, pediatric care, well-woman care, and family planning. The behavioral health program is a collaboration between the Department of Pediatrics and the Pediatric Mental Health Institute, with a team of psychology and psychiatry faculty, social work staff, and learners from those disciplines. The patient population includes young women and children from racially and ethnically diverse backgrounds and with low socioeconomic status; nearly 90% are publicly insured. The Integrated MLT provides support and direct patient care in an ambulatory setting for high-risk and psychosocially complex parenting adolescents and their children. In collaboration with the behavioral health team, the role consults on developmental, psychosocial, and mental health concerns and provides brief interventions, support, and psychoeducation. The position works closely with YMFC medical providers, a nurse, care coordinator, family navigator, psychiatrist, psychologists, and other pediatric integrated behavioral health clinicians. The role delivers clinical services in person. The posting also describes hybrid eligibility, with three days per week on campus and attendance for in-person meetings as needed. This is an open-rank faculty position categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications. Rank at appointment is based on demonstrated contributions and experience in teaching, clinical work, research, and/or service. Candidates may choose a faculty track corresponding to their area of excellence.
