About The Position
Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is seeking experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join its Faculty team. This full-time probationary position is for the Spring 2027 semester, with teaching assignments potentially including weekend, evening, and online classes. The college, founded in 1953 and located in Upstate NY, offers over 80 degree and certificate programs and serves nearly 9,000 students annually. HVCC is a recognized leader in career and transfer preparation, workforce training, distance learning, and serving a diverse student population. Requirements
- Master’s Degree in sociology or closely related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Previous college teaching experience.
- Ability to teach on campus classes.
- Unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Experience teaching online, hybrid, and in person classes.
- Experience teaching introductory sociology courses.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in sociology courses at the 100 and 200 level.
- Teach in other department areas as needed.
- Evaluate student performance and complete assessments as required by the College.
- Participate in departmental, division wide, and/or college wide initiatives.
- At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.
