The Science Department is looking for two instructors to teach Scientific Literacy (SCIE 1114) in the Fall semester of 2026. This course explores what science is and how it is done. It helps students to develop critical thinking skills by showing them how to assess the validity and reliability of scientific studies, to analyze and construct scientific arguments, and to defend their arguments with reasoned evidence. The course demonstrates how science both influences, and is influenced by, culture and society and teaches students what it means to conduct themselves with professionalism in the scientific community.
