About The Position

The State of Connecticut, Connecticut Technical Education and Career System (CTECS) is recruiting for a Science Instructor (Biology/Chemistry) to join the team at Platt Technical High School in Milford, CT. This role involves creating engaging and rigorous learning experiences that support students with diverse learning needs, fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and a strong foundation in high school science. The ideal candidate will possess strong content knowledge, effective instructional practices, and a passion for student success. Responsibilities include designing and implementing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, utilizing differentiated strategies and varied assessment methods, cultivating a positive classroom culture, and managing classroom procedures and student behavior. Collaboration with guidance staff, special education personnel, and support service educators is essential for implementing accommodations. Requirements

• Possess an active State of Connecticut teaching certificate in one of the following areas: 030 Biology, 4–12 or 031 Chemistry Through exemplary trade and academic programming, CTECS prepares trade-bound students to meet the skilled workforce needs in Connecticut.
• Possess at time of appointment a valid certificate issued by the Connecticut State Board of Education in accordance with the Certification Regulations Concerning State Educator Certificates, Permits and Authorizations, with a secondary school endorsement.
