Requirements

  • Led simulation maintenance activities including resourcing and training other simulator technicians
  • Performed scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Systems (TADSS) equipment following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklists, or industry best practices when no checklist is available
  • Informed the site lead of the maintenance timelines for both staffed and unstaffed sites, including notifying when personnel need to travel for maintenance purposes or to support increased demand
  • Ensured maintenance tasks do not conflict with training, exercises, and testing
  • Recorded all maintenance activities in real-time in the Management Information System (MIS)
  • Adhered to warranty terms for maintained items, tracking them by part number, serial number, and location
  • Set up and tested simulation equipment to confirm they work as expected, including interoperability and operation verification
  • Monitored hardware baselines, reverting to previous versions if updates fail
  • Analyzed maintenance trends, tracking component consumption, managing obsolescence, implementing risk management strategies, and conducting failure analysis to minimize risks and improve system reliability
  • Managed configuration management of all maintenance on simulation devices
  • Installed modifications or upgrading kits as per manufacturer's instructions
  • Install and maintain software and hardware installs and managing patches and security compliance for installed applications and operating systems

Responsibilities

  • Leads simulation maintenance activities including resourcing and training other simulator technicians
  • Performs scheduled, preventive, and corrective maintenance on TADSS simulation equipment following technical manuals, preventive maintenance checklists, or industry best practices when no checklist is available
  • Designs and delivers courses on the operation, maintenance, and repair of all TADSS devices
  • Develop training materials, including manuals, presentation slides, and online resources to support the training programs
  • Conducts system power-up and power-down procedures as part of routine checks and operational requirements
  • Diagnoses system failures to identify root causes of malfunctions
  • De-Installation of equipment post exercise and conduct maintenance activities if needed to repair faults/failures and document maintenance activities in INSITE
  • Addresses and rectify issues related to the training/range weapons systems
  • Provides ongoing technical and support and advice to users of TADSS devices
  • Updates software and firmware as part of system maintenance or enhancement efforts
  • Maintenance actions, system performance issues, and resolutions to build a knowledge base for troubleshooting and training purposes
  • Prepares and submits reports on system status, maintenance activities, and training outcomes to stakeholders
  • Support inventory, packing, shipping, and receiving maintenance parts at sites with limited staff
  • Analyzes maintenance trends, tracks component consumption, manages obsolescence, implements risk management strategies, and conducts failure analysis to minimize risks and improve system reliability
