About The Position

Teaching location and hours are subject to change during employment with WCJC to meet department/division needs to ensure student success. Pay for this position is based on a 9 month contract. Anticipated start date is January 2027. The permanent responsibility of a faculty member is to provide the most effective instruction possible in his/her discipline. Supervision is received from appropriate supervisor. The faculty member works to insure that his/her instruction is meeting the educational needs of students. Requirements

  • Master's degree (in Sociology or other discipline) and a minimum of 18 graduate hours in Sociology from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Credentials that meet minimum requirements for teaching at the post-secondary level set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas Education Agency, and accrediting agencies for individual programs.
  • Criminal background check.
