About The Position

The Instructor, Medical Laboratory Technology position is a full-time temporary role located at the Saskatoon Campus. The instructor will be responsible for selecting, designing, updating, and constructing educational courses and lab aids/materials. They will prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures, and demonstrations for educational purposes across all disciplines of Medical Laboratory Science. The role involves supervising students in various settings including classrooms, clinical environments, and labs, which may include travel. Additionally, the instructor will evaluate students through exams, assignments, and observations, record student progress, and counsel students and prospective students regarding the program and job opportunities.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
• Active registration and current licensure with the applicable national and/or provincial regulatory body.
• Minimum of two years of recent, relevant experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or in a related field in a Canadian laboratory, including clinical laboratory.
• Ability to effectively engage students in learning complex topics through lectures, labs, one-on-one support, and constructive feedback.
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, collaboration, and inclusive education.
• Ability to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment.
• Demonstrated competence and recent experience in MS Office Suite, educational software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.
• Demonstrates valuing diversity.

Responsibilities

• Select, design, update and construct educational courses and lab aids/materials.
• Prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures and demonstrations for educational purposes in all disciplines of Medical Laboratory Science.
• Supervise students in classroom, clinical, labs, tours, etc. It may involve travel.
• Evaluate students through the use of exams, assignments and observations and to record student progress.
• Counsel students and prospective students on matters pertaining to the program and job opportunities.
