About The Position

The Instructor, Medical Laboratory Technology position is a part-time permanent role at the Saskatoon Campus, within the Faculty of Nursing, Health Sciences and Community Services. The role involves 40 days per academic year (or prorated based on start date), with 7.25 hours per day, totaling 290 hours per academic year. The instructor will be responsible for selecting, designing, updating, and constructing educational courses and lab aids/materials. They will prepare and deliver lessons, assignments, lectures, and demonstrations across all disciplines of Medical Laboratory Science. Additionally, the instructor will supervise students in various settings including classrooms, clinical environments, labs, and tours, which may involve travel. Evaluation of students through exams, assignments, and observations, along with recording student progress, is a key responsibility. The role also includes counseling students and prospective students regarding the program and job opportunities.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Active registration and current licensure with the applicable national and/or provincial regulatory body.
  • Minimum of two years of recent, relevant experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) or in a related field in a Canadian laboratory, including clinical laboratory.
  • Demonstrated competence and recent experience in MS Office Suite, educational software, and the ability to learn and adapt to changing technology.

Responsibilities
