About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Instructor to teach college-level Mathematics courses. The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the mission and philosophy of a community college and the ability to adapt to a flexible schedule across multiple locations, modalities, and times, including in-person classes. Applicants are encouraged to use their cover letter to highlight their teaching experience, approach to instruction, and relevant qualifications.

Requirements

  • A master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university. Any qualifying degree must contain at least eighteen (18) credits in graduate-level mathematics and/or statistics courses.
  • Ability to leverage technology for teaching math courses in online and remote learning environments.
  • Knowledge of current issues and trends in college mathematics education, including emerging challenges posed by artificial intelligence.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
  • Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule across multiple locations, modalities, and times, including in-person classes.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and teaching math and/or applied statistics courses.
  • Providing academic advising, maintaining records, and evaluating student performance.
  • Participating in college service, including committees, the accreditation process, and program reviews.
  • Actively engaging in professional development opportunities.
  • Contributing to the development of a positive image of the college in the community.
