Instructor - Chemistry (Spring 2027- Tenure Track)
About The Position
Mohawk Valley Community College (MVCC) is seeking a tenure-track, ten-month Instructor in the School of STEM-Transfer to teach chemistry courses. This includes the General Chemistry sequence for science and engineering majors and College Chemistry for health professions students. The college is committed to providing accessible, high-quality education and fostering student success in a learner-centered environment. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in a comprehensive community college, a willingness to use technology for instruction and assessment, and an understanding of the college mission.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Master's degree in Chemistry or related discipline
- Teaching experience
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis.

- Community college teaching experience with a wide variety of students
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction for chemistry courses, including the General Chemistry sequence and College Chemistry.
- Teach contracted classes in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
- Courses may be taught in traditional classroom and online formats.
- May include both daytime and evening classes on Utica and/or Rome campuses.
- Participate in program assessment.
- Participate in curriculum development.
- Provide student advisement.
- Facilitate student experiences.
- Recruit for the program.
- Serve on various School and College Committees.
