The School for Dine Studies and Education at Tsaile Campus is seeking an Instructor in Navajo Culture/Language & Elementary Education. This position involves teaching across three levels of discipline, including Navajo Language, Navajo Culture, and Teacher Education courses for early childhood, AA Elementary Education, and BA Elementary Education programs. The candidate will perform all faculty duties in accordance with the highest professional standards, as outlined by the Personnel Policies & Procedures Manual and the position description. Essential functions include teaching, student advising, research and creative activities, committee assignments, and community service, which may involve off-campus activities, evening or weekend duties, and student recruitment/retention efforts. Teaching responsibilities encompass classroom and laboratory time, maintaining competence, preparing materials, conferring with students, directing research and portfolios, supervising practicums and internships, and evaluating student work. Student advising focuses on academic, curricular, and career guidance. Research involves creating and advancing knowledge in the field. Professional service utilizes expertise to serve the profession and community. The faculty member must be proficient in teaching Navajo language, Navajo culture, and teacher education courses at the specified levels.
