About The Position

Faculty will be responsible for instruction and skill development taught in accordance with established policies and guidelines. Provide a positive and encouraging atmosphere for individuals in achieving their goal of successfully completing their program of study. In addition, the instructor will contribute to the effectiveness and quality of the program and provide constructive, supportive feedback to improve the quality of education and customer service. This position will carry a 9-month faculty agreement and a required start date of 08/10/2026.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten years of recent full-time industry related experience OR bachelor’s degree AND four years of full-time industry related experience OR an associate’s degree AND six years of full-time related experience
  • ASE Master Med/Heavy-Duty Truck certification or ability to obtain ASE Master Certification within the first two years of employment.
  • Incumbent must reside in the State of Idaho (Currently CEI does not sponsor H-1B Visas)

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification in the area in which the applicant is qualified to teach.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with current electronic control systems related to the diesel and heavy-duty industry.
  • Factory training and certifications.
  • Teaching/training experience.
  • Bilingual (Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent instruction and faculty support to students in the Heavy Duty Diesel Technology program
  • Provide academic assistance and related services to students during scheduled office hours.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of students coming from different backgrounds
  • Maintain current and appropriate credentials in field(s) of expertise
  • Attends in-service meetings each semester
  • Attends graduation ceremonies
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
