As a Dental Hygiene Faculty member, you will combine your clinical knowledge with student-centered teaching to help students build the technical skills, professional judgment, confidence, and compassion needed for successful careers. You’ll work alongside experienced faculty and contribute to a program focused on preparing highly skilled professionals for the healthcare workforce. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), or a professional degree in dentistry (DDS or DMD).
- Current, unencumbered Idaho dental hygiene or dentist license, or eligibility for Idaho licensure.
- Certification in local anesthesia and nitrous oxide administration.
- Three or more years of recent clinical dental hygiene or dental practice experience.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine interest in teaching, mentoring, and helping students succeed.
- Must reside within Idaho.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, student-centered instruction that connects classroom concepts to real-world clinical practice.
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with CWI policies, program standards, and curriculum.
- Create an engaging learning environment that challenges students while supporting their individual needs and success.
- Assess student learning and provide timely, meaningful feedback that helps students grow.
- Use your professional experience and current dental hygiene knowledge to make learning relevant and career-focused.
- Incorporate current practices, technologies, standards, and industry expectations into instruction.
- Help students develop the clinical judgment, technical skills, professionalism, and confidence required for practice.
- Continuously strengthen course content, instructional approaches, and assessments based on student and program needs.
- Serve as a faculty resource and mentor as students navigate their academic and professional development.
- Support students in connecting their education to career opportunities and professional expectations.
- Build positive relationships that encourage student engagement, persistence, and achievement.
- Collaborate with faculty and colleagues to strengthen curriculum and student learning.
- Participate in program planning, assessment, committees, and institutional or community activities.
- Engage in professional development to strengthen teaching effectiveness and advances student achievement.
- Bring your ideas, experience, and professional perspective to the continued growth of the program.
