Savannah Technical College is seeking a 12-month full-time faculty member for the Dental Hygiene program on the Savannah Campus. The individual will report to the Dean for Health Sciences and the Department Head of the Dental Hygiene Program. The Dental Hygiene Program Instructor will be responsible for instructing, managing, and supervising individuals and groups in classrooms, laboratories, and clinicals using appropriate teaching methods. This role involves preparing lesson plans, developing and coordinating curriculum, conducting assessments, and evaluating the effectiveness of courses through various data sources. The instructor will maintain accurate student records, coordinate cooperative work experience programs, and ensure compliance with dental hygiene accreditation standards. Additionally, the position requires participation in College committees, collaboration with colleagues, development of program syllabi, and a student-oriented approach to education. The instructor will also assist with recruitment, retention, job placement, equipment and supply maintenance, student advising and registration, and maintaining safe laboratory and clinical conditions. Continuous professional development is expected through attending staff development, workshops, seminars, and conferences, as well as reading professional publications and surveying industry trends. The role also involves communicating professionally with college employees, students, and visitors, and adhering to college policies and standards for student-faculty relationships.
