About The Position

This position is intended for individuals who have completed a 3-year hematology/oncology fellowship. The primary responsibility of the scholars will be research and teaching. The role involves clinical care, administrative service, research, education, and service. The candidate will be expected to develop programs of research and scholarly activities, seek funding, and publish original research. They will also serve as an educator and mentor, and contribute to internal and external service.

Requirements

Completion of a 3-year hematology/oncology fellowship.
Residency or clinical fellowship appropriate to the Faculty role and Department mission.
Licensed to practice in Texas.
Board eligible.
Doctorate-level degree in a field appropriate to the Faculty role and Department mission.
Ability to satisfy and maintain all requirements necessary to ensure the continued security and integrity of critical infrastructure.

Nice To Haves

Ability to synthesize a myriad of information pertaining to the area of research.
May necessitate (orally and in writing) instructing staff and support personnel in protocol design and analysis.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical care and demonstrate competence in patient care services.
Engage in institutional administrative service.
Carry out collaborative research and participate in team science.
Develop programs of research and scholarly activities in keeping with the goals of the Sarcoma research program.
Seek appropriate funding mechanisms to support research, including grant applications and budget development.
Contribute to the literature in the field of expertise by publishing original research in peer-reviewed journals.
Serve as an educator and mentor.
Contribute to internal and external service.
