About The Position

The Mapleton School, located in Malvern, PA, is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to join their team. This role involves supporting teachers by assisting with the academic, social, and behavioral needs of assigned clients. The specialist will help implement basic educational programming, provide individual tutoring or one-on-one support for students with special needs, and perform other duties as directed by the building administrator or classroom teacher. The Mapleton School utilizes a multi-sensory educational strategy across all grade levels, incorporating traditional instruction, hands-on activities, independent learning, and technology to personalize student progress, especially in math and reading. A key focus is preparing students for transitions from school to career. Devereux's approved private schools aim to provide high-quality special education programs in collaboration with families and school districts, equipping students with the tools needed to succeed upon returning to their local schools and communities. Students may attend as day students or as part of a residential treatment program, with each student having an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) to guide their goals and strategies.

Requirements

High School Diploma required.
Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.
