About The Position

The Mapleton School, located in Malvern, PA, is seeking Teacher Assistants to provide direct behavioral intervention to students. This role is part of a supportive, educational, and clinically focused environment within Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health. As a Teacher Assistant, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share a passion for helping individuals in need, utilizing current behavior interventions and PBIS. The position is a 52-week role within a multi-disciplinary team that uses a strengths-based approach.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and/or behavior disorders preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure student safety
• Assist in establishing classroom environments that are conducive to maximum learning by maintaining structure and guiding students to socially appropriate behaviors
• Work with the Special Education Teachers to implement skill acquisition and behavioral reduction programs individually and in small groups
• Perform ongoing data collection and record keeping as directed by Special Education Teacher
