The School for Integrated Learning is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to join their multi-disciplinary team in West Chester, PA. This role involves working with children with special needs, utilizing a strengths-based approach that emphasizes applied behavior analysis and positive behavior supports. The specialist will assist children with individualized plans for daily life, support classroom activities, ensure a safe and clean environment, and participate in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of the client. The School for Integrated Learning focuses on building upon the unique strengths of each student and offers a breadth of opportunities for students to express themselves and find personal levels of accomplishment. The goal is to create individualized educational opportunities that enable each student to live as a positive, healthy, and socially-connected individual in their community. The school is licensed to serve students in grades K-12 with behavioral and cognitive differences, autism, intellectual disabilities, and speech and language impairments. The curriculum is aligned with Pennsylvania Core Standards and partner school districts' curricula. The program utilizes differentiated instruction, evidence-based instructional strategies, and rigorous learning expectations, with each student having an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP). A primary focus is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS) to promote positive behaviors and create safe, supportive environments.
