About The Position

The Mapleton School, located in Malvern, PA, is seeking an Instructional Support Specialist to join their team. This role supports teachers by assisting with the academic, social, and behavioral needs of assigned clients. The specialist will help implement basic educational programming and perform duties as directed by administrators or teachers, including individual tutoring and one-on-one support for students with special needs. The Mapleton School utilizes a multi-sensory educational strategy and focuses on transitioning students from school to career. Devereux's approved private schools offer innovative special education programs designed to help students succeed upon returning to their local schools and communities. Students may attend as day students or as part of residential treatment, with each student having an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP).

Requirements

• High School Diploma required.
• Previous experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Associates Degree or completion of two years of post-secondary education from an accredited college or university preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the health and safety of youth in the school
• Provide assistance with academic, social and behavioral needs.
• Support the teacher and administration's direction while supporting youth and reporting progress daily.
• Support and reinforce PBIS goals and objectives
