About The Position

The Department of ISDS at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Instructional Student Assistant Pool. This is a temporary pool of Instructional Student Assistants for the department to draw on as necessary. Appointments from the pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants may be offered employment on very short notice. The role involves assisting faculty with evaluating student work, maintaining student records, proctoring examinations, and attending course lectures for classes with a capacity of 120 students.

Requirements

Currently enrolled student
Able to collect and organize student submissions made through hard copy, Canvas, and/or other digital submission
Read, evaluate, and assign grades to student work
Maintain and submit student grades
Meet regularly with a faculty supervisor, in-person, by phone, or by email
Meet deadlines defined by university policy and/or supervisor
Complete student worker training as required
Excellent computer skills including Canvas, Office, Excel and PowerPoint and other spreadsheet and data entry experience
Type 40 CWAM
Working knowledge of library and internet research
Excellent command of English – both oral and written
Able to follow directions with minimal supervision
Show initiative
Be reliable
Ability to assist with large classes
