About The Position

Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) for the Department of Mathematics College of Science and Mathematics Position Overview: The Department of Mathematics is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants. The department reserves the right to choose the most qualified candidate for each position and to assign Instructional Student Assistant to the courses that are appropriate for the department program and curriculum in any given semester. Due to staff and curriculum changes, courses offered may vary, and no guarantee of employment from semester to semester can be made. Anticipated Appointment Dates : This position is open until it is filled. If you have applied and no other positions are available, you will be notified. Fall 2026: August 19, 2026 - December 22, 2026 Spring 2027: January 15, 2027 - May 26, 2027 Hours : 0-20 hours per week. Job Duties may include the following, but will be dependent upon the specific course to which the instructional student assistant will be assigned, as well as upon the specific needs of the faculty member in charge of the course: Provide instructional support to assigned instructors in Mathematics by grading papers in a variety of math courses or facilitating group work and discussions. Assist the instructor in lab/activity sessions, and/or perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair in consultation with an appropriate faculty member. Maintain/submit students’ records/grades. Canvas management. Perform individual and/or group academic support

Requirements

  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Must have completed courses with a B or higher in which opening exists.

  • Solid writing and speaking skills.
